It has become very annoying to be added to WhatsApp groups that we do not wish to participate in. However, there is a solution to avoid this situation. Below, we will explain step by step how to prevent being added to WhatsApp groups on Android, iPhone, and the desktop version.
The solution involves choosing who has the ability to add you to a group. You can select only your contacts, all contacts except for some, or nobody to have this capability. If you choose that nobody can directly add you to a group, you should select the option “My contacts, except…” and choose all your contacts.
You do not need to select your contacts one by one, as there is an option that allows you to select all of them with just one tap. Usually, this icon is located in the upper right corner of the screen and has a checkmark.
This feature is available in both the mobile version of WhatsApp, whether on Android or iPhone, and in the desktop version through WhatsApp Web. However, please note that in the desktop version, it is only possible to activate this feature from WhatsApp Web and not from the desktop application.

It is important to note that although this option prevents you from being directly added to a WhatsApp group, it is still possible to receive invitations. However, these invitations can only be sent every 3 days, so you will not be bombarded with them. Unfortunately, there is no way to block all invitations, only blocking the WhatsApp contact is possible.
