InDro Robotics has recently assumed management of InDro Forge, a custom manufacturing and prototyping center located in Ottawa. Previously known as the Bayview Yards Prototyping Lab, this facility offers a variety of services including 3D metal printing, CNC machining, silicone and urethane casting, among others. It is an “all-in-one” for entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to design and manufacture prototypes.
This strategic partnership between InDro Robotics and Invest Ottawa will benefit both parties. InDro Robotics will bring its R&D and engineering expertise to The Forge, while Invest Ottawa will promote the facilities and its capabilities to potential clients. Both companies see this partnership as a perfect match.
The facility has already gained a reputation for its work in rapid prototyping. Entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs can bring their ideas to the facility and receive fully-fabricated industrial designs in a variety of materials. With InDro Robotics now managing InDro Forge, there will be an opportunity for synergy between the two teams. InDro Forge can leverage InDro Robotics’ expertise in aerial and ground robotics, while InDro Robotics can offer InDro Forge’s design and manufacturing capabilities to its clients. Additionally, InDro Forge plans to expand its services to include limited-series production and other custom manufacturing services.
Outsourcing complex prototyping and design and manufacturing to InDro Forge offers clear advantages for startups and SMEs. The facility is equipped with a wide range of additive and subtractive manufacturing capabilities, such as CNC machining, silicone and urethane casting, 3D printing of various elements, electronics and manufacturing, and analysis of printed circuit boards, among others. The highly skilled members of the InDro Forge team, with backgrounds in industrial design and engineering, are experts in multiple manufacturing processes.
Whether it’s a sketch on a napkin or an engineering project, InDro Forge is there to help bring ideas to life. From unique prototypes to complete product development, they offer a variety of services to fit different project sizes. InDro Forge aims to provide the expertise and equipment that many startups and SMEs may not have access to.
