Xbox users have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Octopath Traveler 2 on the platform. Fortunately, it seems that their wishes could come true. During Xbox’s presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, it was revealed that Xbox has been working on strengthening relationships with Japanese developers and publishers, which could result in the arrival of more Japanese games to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass.
In a recent interview conducted by the Xbox Japan team with Sarah Bond, Corporate Vice President of Xbox, the question arose about the possibility of Octopath Traveler 2 joining the Xbox Game Pass catalog. While Bond neither confirmed nor denied this possibility, she did highlight the importance of relationships in the gaming industry.
Bond mentioned that the Xbox team has invested a lot of time in building relationships with creators in Japan and throughout Asia. In that regard, she emphasized the importance of the Xbox Game Pass service, as it allows creators to reach players who would otherwise not have discovered the game or been able to afford it.
Currently, an exact release date for Octopath Traveler 2 on Xbox or whether it will be included in Xbox Game Pass has not been announced. However, there are hopes that the game will arrive on the platform in early 2024. Fans of the first Octopath Traveler installment on Xbox are excited about the possibility of enjoying the sequel on their preferred platform.
