The long-awaited second season of “Quantum Leap” has officially released its trailer, giving fans a glimpse into the intriguing leaps that await them. According to a press release, this new season will feature leaps to various historical events such as Egypt in 1961, the Los Angeles riots in 1992, Koreatown, a UFO investigation in New Mexico in 1949, and the Salem witch trials in Massachusetts in 1692.

The original cast, composed of Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee, will return to reprise their roles in the series. Additionally, new actors Eliza Taylor and Peter Gadiot will join in leading roles. The focus of this season will primarily be on the leaps, as showrunner Martin Gero expressed a desire to explore the emotional space of the characters rather than relying solely on intricate plots.

Gero revealed that the leaps in the first season felt somewhat planned, with the protagonist, Ben, using celestial navigation to guide his time travels. However, in the second season, Ben finds himself lost and at the mercy of an unknown force controlling the Quantum Leap program, reflecting Sam Beckett’s experiences in the original series. This opens up opportunities for other characters to play a more significant role in assisting Ben during his time-traveling adventures.

The highly anticipated second season of “Quantum Leap” will premiere on Wednesday, October 4th at 8:00 p.m. on NBC, and will be available for streaming the following day on Peacock. Fans can get a glimpse of the exciting new leaps by watching the official trailer on YouTube.
