SBase: First Chinese Cars Arrive in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires Subway (SBase) has welcomed the arrival of the first of a batch of 105 new cars from China, which will include air conditioning and greatly increase capacity of Line A.

The new rolling stock are stainless steel, have four doors, are equipped with onboard security cameras and can accommodate 133 passengers.

Juan Pablo Piccardo, President of Sbase, explained “in a short period of time Line A’s newer cars will have air conditioning, and will allow passengers to not only travel with greater comfort, but also feaster, as we will also increase frequency”.

The new cars will be in service around June, with 10 more expected to arrive towards the end of 2015.
