Metro Lima: CAF Offer US$600 Million Line 2 Project Loan
Eleonora Silva, CAF Director in Peru, announced that the Latin American development bank is ready to offer in excess of $US 600 million towards the construction of Lima’s $5.7 billion Line 2 project.
The announcement was made during an event in the Peruvian capital, where Ms Silva explained that the bank are in discussions to provide approximately $US2.5 billion billion towards forthcoming infrastructure projects, including the construction of the countries second largest pipeline.
CAF, development bank of Latin America, is waiting for a formal loan application by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) to contribute at least $US 600 million for the construction of the underground Metro Line 2 of Lima. The overall cost of the central government lead project is expected to be around $US 5.7 billion.
Eleonora Silva, CAF director representative in Peru, said the development bank could also provide funding for the country’s second largest pipeline. The ACS (Actividades de Construcción y Servicios) Consortium was granted the contract to build Line 2 on March 28 this year.
