
Medellin will roll out its Ayacucho Tram service on the 30th of September; it is the first of its kind in the country and considered to be another milestone for public transport in the city. This is the date that has been set out for the inaugural service albeit restrictions and without its two (overhead) lines.

Metro de Medellin have announced a number of strategies to reduce congestion, as work on the cities new ‘River Park’ is expected to disrupt road transport along the Medellin river. These strategies include reallocating rolling stock, suspending Line C, acquiring new buses, increasing the number of payment points and the number of turnstiles.

El montaje de la catenaria lo realizará personal ciento por ciento metro gracias a la experiencia obtenida en los años de operación del sistema metro, un trabajo para el cual antes la empresa tenía que recurrir a expertos internacionales.

State promoter of private investment, ProInversión, has confirmed that the pre-investment feasibility study for line 3 of the Lima Metro will be ready by the end of March or start of April, which means the project is on schedule to the deadline to finalise the route and define the investment necessary.
