Peru: ProInversión discuss Rail, Metro and Monorail Project Investment
British companies have expressed an interest in the planned lines 3 and 4 of Metro de Lima, as well as the proposed ‘Tren Macho’ route, connecting Huancayo and Huancavelica, and the Arequipa monorail project.
A number of British companies have been attracted by investment and consultancy opportunities, as the government of Peru looks to launch the tender prior to July 2016. Proinversión welcomed a British delegation to Lima, as they discussed inital plans for the the construction of line 3 (Miraflores to Cono Norte) and 4 (Javier Prado to Faucett) of Metro de Lima.
Senior representatives from the companies who were joined in Peru by British Minister for Latin America, Hugo Swire, also expressed interest in the Arequipa monorail project and the new train line linking Huancayo and Huancavelica.
Proinversion confirmed that in total six British companies were present in Lima to discuss business opportunities and strategic partnerships as the country prepares for the 2019 Pan American Games.
Proinversion estimate that between 2014-2015 37 project contractors will be decided in various sectors including energy, sanitation, urban transport and airport infrastructure.
